Fantastic opportunity to join a well established company based in Newbury. Our client is looking for a Northern European Region Accountant to join their team on a 12month contract and offering a salary of £42,000 to £46,000.

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Accountant to join our regional finance team of 10, with this role being based in Newbury, Berkshire. The team is responsible for accounting and finance across the UK, Benelux and Nordics countries and supports internal business partners as well as external customers and service partners across the region.

The Northern European Region (NER) Accountant will be responsible for supporting the NER Finance Business Partner in driving process standardisation and improvement, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to internal customers and supporting external legal reporting requirements across the region.

The role will involve some regional travel, as well as regular interaction with global and European finance colleagues through working with the Hungarian based Financial Shared Service Centre and Dublin based European Finance team.

Over time the role will take on additional duties and line management responsibilities. The role provides the opportunity to grow and develop broad skills in both management and financial accounting across a multi-country and multi-currency environment.

Finance at the company is constantly evolving and our client is for looking for a team member who is comfortable in dealing with change yet happy to ensure that the many day to day tasks involved with monthly reporting, forecasting and analysis are completed accurately, supporting all of our varied customer's needs.

Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

*Systems and Process Improvements;
o Working with the Regional Finance Business Partner to identify regional processes which require standardisation and improvement
o Improve regional knowledge and usage of internal systems (Oracle, Hyperion)
o Supporting regional system testing and changes as directed by European Finance.
*Support branch accountants with adherence to statutory reporting, ensuring;
o VAT and tax returns are accurate, timely and complete
o Legal set of books reporting is completed - be the central point of contact for LSOB reporting for the region
o Ad hoc tax and government authorities reporting is completed
*Be the functional point of contact for specified regional functions (eg. Sales, Engineering, Marketing)
o Produce monthly actual vs budget and forecast reports, review with the functional manager and resolve any queries
o Produce monthly forecast updates, share inputs with the branch accountants and report forecast to functional manager
*Support functional budget and forecast processes and variance analysis across the region;
*Review & support local branches with month end reporting; improve processes via standardisation and detailed analysis of expense reporting & balance sheet reconciliations
*Represent the region on European or Corporate projects as requested
*Deputise for the Regional Finance Manager as and when required.

The Ideal candidate will exhibit the following:

Knowledge & Experience:
*Recognised Accountancy Qualification (ACCA or CIMA preferred)
*Experience of working as a qualified accountant
*Previous experience of Oracle Financials and Hyperion

*Experience of working in a virtual team
*Experience of working within a multicurrency environment
