About the role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to work as a Clinical Lead Nurse for the IV home therapies service covering the Kent and South East.
We are looking for Clinical Lead Nurses who will oversee the homecare nurses, whose duties include a variety of IV therapies including Home Parenteral Nutrition, IV antibiotics, Methotrexate and Desferrioxamine to patients in their own homes.

Duties of the role will include but are not limited to:
• Management of end to end referral and patient discharge process
• Collating and reviewing patient information
• Reporting incidents and clinical issues
• Training external healthcare professional and multi-disciplined teams on home therapies products and therapies
• Co-ordinating regional team meetings
• Supporting with nurse recruitment
• Working as part of a ROTA to provide out of hours clinical on-call advise

Job Purpose:
To take managerial and operational responsibility for a designated area within nursing service ensuring safe and efficient practice for patients receiving therapies within the home i.e. Home Parenteral Nutrition and IV Antibiotics, and subcutaneous therapies e.g. Methotrexate and Desferrioxamine
To support the Community Programs Manager with recruitment and induction of new staff ensuring the provision of quality, effective and efficient care to all patient groups

To be actively involved in the training and supervision of both nurses and patients on key therapies and to ensure the safe discharge of patients transferring from hospital onto the homecare nursing service

Nurses must have the following:
Specific Skills and Experience:
• IV Therapy exposure and previous experience
• Experience of caring for patients with long term conditions
• Homecare or Community nursing experience
• Experience of managing nursing teams
• ICU/CCU/Paediatric experience desirable
• Ability to communicate effectively both face to face, via telephone and written media
• Ability to produce work to a high standard within a specific time frame
• Adept in the use of Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Word, Internet Explorer and Outlook

• Car driver with current driving license
• Take part in on-call arrangements as required
• Able to commute reliably to an office base/national travel
• Able to work extended hours/stay away from home on occasions when required
