FINANCE MANAGER
Bodmin, Cornwall
£44,000 - £55,000 pa
Permanent role – 37 hours per week

Jobline Staffing are working in partnership with Cornwall Housing Ltd for the permanent recruitment of their new Finance Manager role based in Bodmin, Cornwall.

Cornwall Housing Ltd (CHL) manages over 10,000 properties across Cornwall on behalf of Cornwall Council. The company is part of Corserv Group and has an annual turnover of £38m.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monthly management accounts, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, year-end financial closedown, commercial review and evaluation
• Manage an ongoing program of cost reduction across the business
• Ensure that monthly management accounts, Statutory Accounts and the Annual Report are produced on time to enable a non-qualified audit opinion to be presented to the Cornwall Housing Financial Review, Audit and Performance (FRAP)
• Ensure appropriate professional standards and codes of conduct are laid out and maintained for all finance staff
• Provide an early warning system to flag individual overspends
• Ensure commercial viability, including validity of the schedule of rates and product costing
• Provide a strong level of challenge through the management accountants and, in partnership with the Managing Director, on the cost base and margin performance of the business
• Maintaining the Chart of Accounts and deliver Accounting policy changes
• Prepare and maintain a financial training package for managers
• Work with the senior team in transforming and modernising CHL.
• The Finance Manager will be responsible for all standard financial reporting within the business
• Be an evangelist for the production of insightful and timely management accounting information for all of the company’s stakeholders.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Qualified accountant with significant commercial experience in a complementary business sector
• Experience of managing a team
• Degree or equivalent experience
• Solid track record of success as a qualified accountant in Industry.
• Extensive experience within commercial financial
• Experienced in implementing and maintaining compliant financial processes in line with relevant regulations
• Able to provide precise and targeted commercial finance advice across all levels of the organisation.
• Broad IT and finance software experience
• Background of coaching others, ability to harness technology in improving team performance
• Proven background of implementing a performance management culture
• Excellent stakeholder communications skills required at all levels
