Our client is currently recruiting for a part time Communications Assistant. Bridge is our client’s specialist education college for students aged 16 to 25 years with disabilities, complex needs and autism. They promote a multidisciplinary approach to learning and has expertise in supporting students with a wide range of needs.

Role purpose: The Communications Assistant has a key role to play in supporting the team at Bridge and the Communications Team based in the central office - planning and delivering communications (external and internal) to key groups, such as supporters, volunteers and staff.

The post holder will write, edit and co-ordinate content, videos and images with approval from the comms team across various channels, including the website, social media, and print and online marketing materials.

Key responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

• Cover reception duties, as required.
• Undertake all administrative work generated by the college, managing deadlines and communicating these across other departments.
• Manage and process invoices.
• Managing all information on third party websites, and keeping this information updated.

Communications:

• Regular meetings with central communications team to agree upcoming communications projects and job roles
• Sourcing regular stories from across the services and writing up to share across their channels.
• Managing and regular updating all media permission forms
• Managing the photo library
• Managing the events calendar and keeping the central comms team updated with upcoming events work
• Maintain communications and marketing records – and databases
• Regular literature reviews and edits
• Maintain a CRM database to keep contact information up to date, ensuring use of the database is developed to maximise efficiency and effectiveness in the college
• Produce reports as required
• Work to agreed targets and KPIs.
• Help to implement the internal and external communications strategies to provide effective communication of relevant corporate information to staff, volunteers and stakeholders
• Writing and editing copy for all departments as required, in accordance with brand guidelines
• Record videos and organise photoshoots.

Events:

• Coordinate the process of preparing materials, equipment and resources for internal and external events
• Liaise with service staff about attendance at events and the comms support needed
• Assist to represent the Trust at events when necessary
• Undertake such other duties as shall be deemed appropriate by the Manager.

Case studies:

• Promote and recruit young people and families to get involved in campaigns
• Sourcing and writing up case studies

Brand:

• Ensure consistent Bridge branding is used across the organisation and externally
• Help maintain and build reputation
• Act as a brand champion
• Assist to plan/create multi-media communications materials.

This is a 16 hour post over 2/3 days per week and is ideal for a Student studying marketing, communications, media, English, journalism.
