On behalf of our client, a highly respected M&E Building Services Contractor, we are currently taking applications for Mechanical Pre-Construction Engineers. Our client, although based in the North-West, is expanding and currently is working on several high profile projects throughout the UK. They are extremely focused on securing the best candidates for their vacancies and can offer ongoing training and career prospects to their employees.
Reporting to the Design and Engineering Director the Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager will be responsible for the pre-construction phase with relevance to both technical and commercial aspects. You must have an excellent working knowledge of industry legislation's and keep up to date with company policies.
In the Pre-Construction role you will be responsible for ensuring all sub-contractors have capability to work to current Health and Safety standards and that their contracts are compatible with the companies. You must also bring to the role experience of working with supply chain and stakeholders.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated and also be able to work well as part of a team, adapting works to ensure the clients' specifications are met and that profitability is maximised. You should be commercially and financially aware, be able to communicate and lead a team and represent the company in the absence of the Project Manager.
Throughout the cycle of the projects you must ensure that you have information and documentation to hand to complete written progress reports on request.
We are looking for candidates with 5 years' experience in a similar role, with HNC or equivalent in a building services engineering qualification, experience at working on projects of £1 M+ value and the ability to manage a large team.
