Knowledge of standard chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC etc) is essential.

The Company
A major Pharmaceutical service organisation based in Swindon, Wiltshire. Across 30+ sites worldwide, the company offers a range of drug development, manufacturing, packaging and distribution services to the global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and consumer health industries. The Swindon site is a busy R&D and manufacturing facility, producing both large and smaller quantities of patented products, including some sterile processing. This is an excellent environment in which to gain new experiences.

The Role
This is a busy position in which you will undertake different chemical analyses (e.g. HPLC, GC) and physical evaluation of different Pharmaceutical dosage forms. You will work in and maintain a safe working environment, including participation in laboratory housekeeping duties, upkeep of the stability facilities, routine laboratory safety audits, maintenance of equipment and compliance with all health and safety procedures and SOPs.

We are looking for hard-working individuals who understand how different chemical and physical laboratory tests can assist the manufacturing and supply process. Some of your work will include writing technical reports or preparing graphs and charts to document experimental results.

This will be an excellent opportunity to gain more experience in following strict GMP / GLP regulations, operating and maintaining lab equipment and undertaking different projects to support the production and supply of commercial and clinical drug products.

The Contract
Two positions are available, both for 3 months (with the possibility of extension beyond this, though nothing is guaranteed). You will be paid a competitive hourly rate in line with industry standards, dependent on your experience.

Requirements
The successful candidate will have a degree (or similar) in a scientific discipline (Chemistry preferred), together with some experience of working in a regulated laboratory environment. Pharmaceutical GLP / GMP experience would be preferred, but candidates will also be considered from other industries including Food, Cosmetics, Medical Devices and Diagnostics. Experience of method development, method validation and stability studies would be a big advantage. Above all else, you must be a motivated individual who works hard, gets on well with others, and is keen to undertake a range of different duties.
