Full Time

Do you always look on the bright side of life? Do you love to put on your dancing shoes and have a boogie? If you answer yes to either of these questions, then you`re going to get on really well with the people you will support!

We are currently looking to expand our team of dedicated support workers who cover two services. You will be supporting unique individuals who have a learning disability.

Of course you don`t really need to love a boogie but we do have 3 questions that we need a YES from for this role to be perfect for you:

  • Are you eager, enthusiastic and passionate?
  • Do you want to do a job where you can go home knowing that you have made a difference to someone`s day?
  • From your next job opportunity do you want award winning training, career progression and exceptional company benefits?

In our service`s everyone has their own requirements but the type of support you will provide would be things such as shopping, cooking, eating and drinking, laundry, personal care, cleaning, finances, medication administration. You would also support them to organise activities and access the community to socialise and for leisure as well as to attend health appointments.

Being a support worker isn`t just about making day to day life great, it`s about creating days that are spectacular! Each day will be different but on a spectacular day you can expect to be going to see the latest blockbuster, going to discos, or going shopping for a new outfit. Creating spectacular days is just one of the amazing parts of being a support worker.

The people we support have created profiles for you to read (see additional information) so you can get an idea about how to support them.

Support workers must be flexible in the hours they can work, as support can be required 24 hours a day. You will work on a rota basis throughout the week, weekends and bank holidays with sleep-ins as well.

One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.

An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
