Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager

Package: Basic Salary ofcirca £30k - £33k basic + commission structure with OTE of £40k to £43k DOE, + Car + other benefits (Fuel card, laptop, phone, pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holiday)

Area / location; Midlands, M6 Corridor, covering from Worcester in South up through Birmingham, Stoke, Manchester. Including West Midlands, East Midlands, North West and Wales.

Technical Sales Engineer / Area sales Manager required for a leading worldwide company with more than 100 years of experience, offering products and services in welding, brazing and thermal spraying technologies.

Covering Midlands, M6 Corridor, from Worcester in South up through Birmingham, Stoke, Manchester. Including West Midlands, East Midlands, North West and Wales.

Brief job description:

Our clients provide products with application know-how to customers and are increasingly moving to become a service-based business. They are specialists in fighting wear and providing specialist joining solutions in harsh operating conditions.

THE ROLE:

Your role will be to promote and sell these products and services into the marketplace, adding value by giving adequate solutions and the best service, to ensure the achievement of sales objectives (volume and margin) and to safeguard and develop the companies image in the marketplace.

Not only do we sell welding/joining/wear protection products we also sell services, which is currently a major focus for the role. Therefore you will be selling both products and services.

We mainly sell our services into Heavy Industry Clients like Construction, Steel, Power, Paper, Mining etc. Basically any industry that suffers from severe wear due to corrosion, erosion, impact, abrasion and friction. The service/product we supply is a solution to a client’s wear issues. This solution might be either selling them hard facing products for them to do the welding themselves or us supplying the service. This can be by means of welding, thermal spraying, arc spraying etc. (It is not the role of the Technical Sales Engineer to perform these services, only sell them) We have a number of welding technicians and workshops throughout the UK and Europe that carry out these services for us.

MAIN TASKS;

- Develop Sales to achieve volume & value targets with both existing and new customers.

- New Business development.

- Administration

- Manage and grow existing Customer relationships.

- Provide technical advice to customers in conjunction with our internal product team.

- Area Sales, account management and new business development.

Experience / Requirements:

• Experience as a Technical Sales Engineer in our industry is ideal, (ie, Basic understanding of wear mechanisms, Knowledge or experience in maintenance & repair welding) however we will not rule out anyone with a Technical Sales / Field Sales background who has sold into our target customer sectors such as Mining, Thermal Power, Steel and Material handling.
