Salary £21,377 - £24,914 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance

Providing support to the School of Technology, Engineering and Construction, the Workshop Assistant will assist the Tutors with the successful delivery of practical classes; distributing and maintaining equipment and materials and keeping the workshop areas clean and tidy.

Carrying out all duties with awareness of Health & Safety responsibilities, you will maintain, distribute and arrange the storage and repair of all materials, components and specialist equipment whilst assisting in the design, construction and maintenance of workshop demonstrations. Preparing workshops for classes and taking responsibility for the security of tools, equipment and materials used, you will support individual students in achieving their learning and social targets whilst working with Tutors to set and monitor targets.

They are looking for an individual who has experience of maintaining and repairing materials and equipment in a workshop environment and who can work well as part of a team. With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will be able to receive instructions, meet deadlines and work in a pressured environment.

With a Level 3 qualification in Plumbing, Bricklaying or Plastering, you will have experience of working in the Construction industry and have the practical skills required in supporting a construction workshop. They need you to have the ability to work with students of different abilities, assisting and interacting with them as individuals to enable them to have the opportunity to progress their skills to their maximum capacity.
