You will join as a Learning Support Assistant on a full-time fixed term contract with a required start in September. Your new role
As an LSA, your role will include providing support to small groups of pupils, as well as 1:1 sessions to pupils who need additional support due to their SEND. You will work closely with the SENCO to create activities to help encourage focus and understand tasks, as well as optimise pupils learning opportunities. You will also play a vital role in assisting their progress through GCSE Level whilst developing their emotional intelligence and independence. Your general responsibilities will include understanding and promoting the needs of SEND pupils, promote positive behaviour and build effective relationships with subject teachers and parents.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful Learning Support Assistant you will need to demonstrate effective communication skills, a commitment to achieving the best for pupils as well as a positive attitude. You will have experience of working with children or youths previously, and it is desirable that you have an understanding of supporting young people with SEND/EBD. You will need to have a Grade C or above at GCSE Level.
