My client in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant. The role is to work alongside fee earners across the office network to help expand and enhance external client focus as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have experience within Property or Conveyancing.

Skills:

Computer literate. Sound working knowledge of Microsoft office, primarily Word
Flexible approach to work
Experience in a process driven environment
Keen enquiry skills, good follow up
Excellent internal and external client focus
Well-developed interpersonal skills
Excellent team playing skills
Good attention to detail
Sound written and oral communication
IT literate
Ability to use case management system
Planning, organisation and time management
Good communication skills in accordance with firm's client care requirements

Duties Include:

File Opening Tasks
Providing full accurate quotations to potential clients promptly to follow up any quotations given.
Open file on Solcase (or similar system) and printing off relevant letters and forms.
Running call ML checks and conflict checks as soon as relevant information is available in accordance with requirements of the firm.

Completion Tasks
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) forms
Land Registry Applications
Scheduling
Checking ledgers are clear prior to file closing

General Tasks

Take instructions or messages from clients and pass on to fee earner
To maintain an efficient diary system using Outlook/Solcase highlighting milestone dates on each matter
To ensure all letters and communication are completed accurately and on time
To maintain filing system in an orderly manner to ensure correct conduct for client files
To ensure all files are opened and closed correctly
To assist with the maintenance of each client file in a proper manner in accordance with the requirements of the Firm and Law Society
To maintain each client file with a copy of typed documentation in a proper manner in accordance with the requirements of the firm and the Law Society. This involves maintaining the filing system for the fee-earner in conjunction with the secretaries and keeping all necessary records for the conduct of the matters and files being dealt with by the fee-earner
To chase/liaise with clients and other parties such as Estate Agents for key information for file matter
To effectively build relationships with clients and other parties such as Estate Agents
Complete and follow up all documents in relation to accounts, cheque requisitions and banking for client matters
To prepare forms and paperwork necessary for client files
To comply with Firms policies and procedures as laid out on the Firms intranet
Flexibility is required in order to support the Residential Conveyancing Team and carry out any reasonable duties as may be directed by the Partners or Management of the Firm
