Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Landfill Supervisor to join our team

Landfill Supervisor key responsibilities:

* Delivering safe and efficient site operations at all waste management facilities within your remit.
* Ensuring compliance with all Company procedures, statutory legislation and industry good practice.
* Maintaining good employee relations including managing absence, annual leave to assist the Unit Manager with carrying out annual Performance Appraisal Reviews and Annual Training Reviews of all direct reports.
* Remaining aware at all times of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety for yourself and those responsible to you.
* Managing contractors, visitors and other employees undertaking activities on site to ensure compliance with Policies and Procedures.
* Providing vital supervision and assistance to the site on a day to day basis
* Ensuring the site remains fully compliant with statutory, regulatory, legislative, BMS and corporate requirements.
* Ensuring Risk Assessments (RA) and produce Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) for all landfill operations are adhered to and adequately trained out to all staff.
* Ensuring that waste acceptance/analysis, handling and disposal is carried out in accordance with the Environmental Permit, Planning Permissions, Working Plan and Company procedures.
* Co-ordinating landfill operations to ensure that waste is dealt with efficiently at the site and is handled and treated in the correct manner.
* Ensuring that all operations on site are conducted in a safe manner and that all staff have received adequate training for the job they are required to do.
* Delivering management and financial information, data handling and associated activities in a timely and accurate manner when required by the Unit Manager
* Ensuring all administration functions are completed on time, to approved timescales and methods.

This role requires a flexible approach to ensure vital tasks are achieved in a timely and precise manner. Although a staff contract it will require working at weekends, nights and bank holidays.

The ideal Landfill Supervisor:

* Good working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety practises and training particularly in risk assessments and safe operating procedures.
* Relevant plant and machinery including operation and first line maintenance.
* Transferable Management / Supervisory skills.
