Our customers are at the heart of everything we do; Engineering Workshops operate as a key service provider to all manufacturing units, and the role will include ensuring our customer needs are delivered beyond their expectations, liaising on a regular basis as the principle point of contact putting customer service first, to ensure customer needs are met or exceeded, and assets are maintained in line with operational and legislative requirements.

We are recruiting for a Planning Engineer based within Central Engineering Workshops at our site in Port Talbot. Reporting to the Workshops Planning Manager, the purpose of the role is to provide leadership and support to the Planning Department providing engineering expertise as well as ensuring work can be produced at optimised levels in order to manage both the current and future demands of the Workshops internal and external customers. To improve mechanical maintenance productivity, cost effectiveness and quality by efficient planning and coordination of spares and labour resources.

The job holder will be responsible for the processing and managing of work orders as directed and controlled by the Planning Process and the Quality Management System. The incumbent of the role will be responsible for improving the efficiency and capability of the assets and must liaise with the Scheduler Controller regarding the coordination of activities and the Operations Teams regarding the flow of work through the workshops. The job holder will be key in ensuring each section within the Workshops in partnership and that the assets are managed to provide maximum efficiency
