Reed Education Swindon are currently working with an excellent local academy on an exciting new role for a Head of Modern Foreign Languages. To start in September, the school are looking for an outstanding Head of MFL to join them on a full time, permanent basis.

The School:

• A mixed secondary school for 11 – 16 year olds, with fantastic facilities and a friendly and supportive team of staff.
• They are an inclusive, caring school where the staff go the extra mile for the students.
• The school have high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
• The students are enthusiastic and have a positive attitude to learning.

The Role:

• As Head of MFL, you are responsible for pupil attainment within this subject and monitoring pupil progress.
• You are responsible for the development of the teaching practice of others within the department.
• You will be required to create an engaging and challenging Languages curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4, that enables all students to enjoy the subject and achieve the highest levels of attainment.
• You will be in charge of teaching/support staff, as well as ensuring there are appropriate resources to effectively support the department development plan.

What you will need:

• A graduate with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• The ability to teach French and/or Spanish is essential.
• To be an inspiring and committed Head of Languages.
• To be dedicated to ensuring the development and progress of the pupils and department as a whole
