My Client is a leading firm specialising in financial and professional advice to businesses and private clients, with offices based in Ipswich, Colchester and Cambridge. They are experiencing a period of rapid expansion and urgently need to recruit an energetic and professional Tax Advisory Manager to join their busy Taxation Services team.

As a recognised and respected financial services firm my client has ambitious plans and are looking for a Tax Advisory Manager who wants to develop their skills and work alongside an experienced management team. As a Tax Advisory Manager you must be an ambitious and self-motivated individual who wants to be part of a team where they can influence strategy and ultimately progress towards Director and Partner.

As a Tax Advisory Manager you will work between their Ipswich and Colchester offices, this role is perfect for anyone seeking the opportunity to undertake complex tax technical projects for both personal and corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities as a Tax Advisory Manager

- Client development
- Client portfolio management
- Liaising with new and existing clients to progress projects and strengthen relationships
- Providing capital gains, inheritance tax and VAT advice (existing and new clients)
- Report and letter drafting for clients tax advice, covering any tax
- Providing technical advice to all sectors of the firm
- PAYE compliance reviews and PAYE settlement agreements
- VAT Investigations
- Construction Industry Scheme Return preparation and advice
- Attending meetings with clients to discuss and finalise tax matters

Skills and experience needed as a Tax Advisory Manager

- Advising clients on accounting, tax, VAT and associated matters
- Good understanding of CCH Personal Tax software and FT interactive updates
- Drafting technical presentations to be given by the Partners
- Providing content for marketing department for inclusion in blogs, bulletins and press articles
- Managing own budgets for productivity and cost recovery
- Monitor and review WIP each month to issue fees; chasing outstanding debts where applicable
- Staff development
- Assisting in managing the work of the department
- Supporting colleagues and mentoring junior staff in their work
- Monitoring and recording staff performance, including providing constructive feedback
- Reviewing work completed by seniors and trainees to finalise files and -
- monitor the completion of jobs
- Providing technical support to colleagues

Experience and Qualifications

- AAT or CTA qualified
- Proven tax advisory experience within a practice environment is desirable
- Experience in a client facing role, with good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all colleagues across the group and wider business
- Proven ability to organise and motivate a team, with a strong team player mindset
- Comfortable using Tax software, preferably CCH personal and Digita corporate, however full training will be given
