Senior Quantity Surveyor (Boroughs) – London

You will report to the Commercial Manager. The purpose of the role is to manage the commercial delivery and governance of the Borough works in accordance with the governance in a manner that achieves both value for money for our client and sustainable profit.

Responsibilities:
To work with the Operational teams to deliver on the specific activities; forecast/budget; application for payment; subcontract payments; month end reporting; client liaison on measure, star rates and other commercial matters.
To ensure that the procurement of supply chain resource is in accordance with the Corporate Governance and procedures.
Maintain the Risk Register for the works escalating where needed and actions to mitigate.
Demonstrate a detailed understanding of all business activities.
Through strong leadership, ensure that the business objectives are adequately cascaded and supported by your team.
To maintain and enhance the reputation of Ringway Jacobs by encouraging and demonstrating our core value of integrity.
To promote and value our culture of continual improvement while complying with our Business Management System policies and procedures.

Knowledge, skills and experience:
A sound knowledge of industry standard including the NEC and associated documents such as the Highway Works Method of Measurement.
Ability to effectively manage, motivate and develop people.
A thorough understanding of all commercial and financial procedures, tools, systems, client requirements and business needs.
An understanding of risk management principles and its application to mitigate commercial and business risk.
Ability to engage and conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
An understanding of company commercial ICT system including CPA.
An ability to drive continual improvement and manage change.
An ability to effectively plan, prioritise and manage conflicting and changing priorities.
At least 5 years’ experience in a senior management position within a TMC or equivalent.
At least 10 years’ experience of financial reporting of works progress detailing cost, value and turnover.
A detailed understanding of the NEC3 form of contract and its application within Highways Works.
A comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
