The provision of a comprehensive and complete financial assessment and income collection function in accordance with Department of Health’s Charging Policies for non-residential services.

Key Accountabilities

To facilitate the efficient and effective reconciliation and collection of charges for those individuals who are in receipt of non-residential care services.

The assessment and collections assistant will work closely with the Finance Services Assistant (FSA) to ensure that all service users receive prompt notification of the amount, if any, that they will have to pay for their services.

Service Quality

To check that financial assessments undertaken by the FSA are carried out in accordance with the non residential charging policy and are arithmetically correct. To make further enquiries about financial information supplied by the service user or their financial representative

To monitor and amend all financial assessment data and any temporary changes to an individuals care package to ensure that service users are charged correctly

The transfer of service user data to the Revenue Centre to facilitate the raising of charges for non-residential social care services

Liaise with the Revenue Centre and other stakeholders to ensure that all customer queries are fully answered and therefore arrears are minimised. To reconcile accounts to ensure balances are correct
