Purchase Ledger Clerk required


Salary of £18,000 to £20,000 per annum

Reporting into the Financial Controller of this well knows Cardiff based company, the main purpose of the role will be to control the Purchase Ledger and to maintain robust procedures for management of payments to approved suppliers and ensure effective monitoring of the database for producing key reports.

The main duties of the role to include -

1. To maintain and control the purchase ledger system - inputting invoices and credit notes, checking authorisation for payment, adding new suppliers, clearing down old suppliers, ensuring correct VAT code has been applied, ensuring the prompt processing of all authorised transactions

2. To assist with the input of data to the computerised accounting system

3. To maintain the rent accounting system, ensuring prompt accurate charging of rents/service charge

4. Provide information for management purposes when requested

5. To ensure the subsequent filing and maintenance of invoices received

6. To administer the petty cash in line with cash handling procedure

7. To control the recording of all receipts (from all sources) and reconcile with bank statements

8. To bank all receipts promptly

The successful candidate will possess excellent numeracy skills, and will ideally be an AAT qualified / AAT studier. You will be a tram player who has good knowledge of the MS Office package in particular Excel. You will have an abililty to communicate well and have previous experience of processing high volume invoices.
