Our client, a food manufacturing company are looking for a Maintenance Engineer who has experience on PLC equipment and packaging machinery, a formal engineering qualification and ideally 17th edition qualification.

Principal purpose of the role:
To maintain a wide range of production equipment as well as general maintenance and installation within the company planned maintenance on a day to day basis. Must be prepared to work shifts, overtime and attend call outs if necessary.

Main Responsibilities:
To deliver maintenance on schedule and to deal with any unscheduled and emergency work, including fault finding and necessary repair on a wide range of production equipment.
To ensure that all maintenance works are recorded accurately and timely in to the computerised maintenance system (Maximo).
Communicate unscheduled downtime to Line Supervisor and Operations Manager and the corrective action required.
Housekeeping. All works undertaken and equipment is maintained in a safe and efficient manner, following any necessary standards and guidelines.
Identification of improvements that can be made to line and other operations.
Perform such administrative functions are a consistent with a role of this nature.
To be part of and show interest in any projects that arise.
Carry out PPM work schedules
At all times to ensure work is carried out within the necessary Health and Safety guidelines and requirements.
Assist in line changeovers
Carryout daily pre-production checks

Other Responsibilities:
Year on year improvement in planned maintenance
Working smarter to achieve minimum downtime
Identify potential long term savings
Maintain accurate records and files of all site machinery and equipment
Assist in training of personnel in machine changeovers / basic maintenance

This role is based on alternate shifts - Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm. Please note, there may at some point be a requirement to work night shifts as and when production demands.

Salary up to £31,700 per annum and with shift allowance £34,300 per annum.
Overtime - time and a quarter over 40 hours work, time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays when available
Pension - 3% contributory
