Litigation Fee Earner / Team Leader



Our client a well-established and growing Law Firm in Liverpool are looking for an experienced Litigation Fee Earner / Team Leader. As Litigation Fee Earner / Team Leader you will be responsible for running a caseload of post issue files in a commercial and profitable manner. In addition to this you will provide supervision to the CPR Fee Earners assigned to your POD.

Main Duties Are:

  • Run a caseload of post issue files at a level to be determined by the Litigation Partner that is consistent with the budget
  • Dealing with post issue cases to settlement, including resolving liability at the earliest possible stage, advising clients on court proceedings where necessary and conducting relevant investigations
  • Preparation of court bundles as directed by the Court Directions
  • Liaising with clients, experts, barristers, third party solicitors/insurers and any other third parties as required
  • Advise clients as to the litigation and cost risks to offers received and settlements and manage client expectations
  • As per the firm’s Litigation Strategy Progressing all cases in an efficient and commercial manner to maximise profitability
  • Ensure all heads of loss are considered Accurate recording of time and preparing accurate attendance notes Supervise CPR members of your POD, duties including although not limited to:

o Act as point of contact for queries for the CPR Fee Earners

o Oversee the conduct of files dealt with by the CPR Fee Earners

o Monitoring of KPI’s and feeding back any variance to the Performance and Capacity Manager / Head of Litigation as required

o Working with the Head of Litigation to identify training needs to develop the skills of the CPR Fee Earners and assist in training where required

  • Achieve POD performance targets
  • Identify and report potential risks in accordance with Legal procedures


  • Previous experience working within the PI industry is required with excellent working knowledge of PI law
  • Strong litigation and tactical skills are required
  • Previous experience of working on the telephone and dealing with a wide range of clients is required
  • Proven track record of working to targets and exceeding KPI’s set
  • Previous experience with coaching or managing a small team of legal clerks would be advantageous
