2nd Line IT Operations Engineer (x 2) for a major UK managed services provider.

Up to £24k base plus bonus


Your role

The IT Operations Engineer supports the provision of 24/7, 365 day internal services and external managed services. Complying with agreed SLA and external contracts by Operating systems, this role also involves the development and implementation of changes to IT Operations procedures and systems as a result of customer and internal improvement initiatives. The role of the IT Operations Engineer involves both 1st and 2nd Level Support.

What will I be doing?

As IT Operations Engineer you’ll be responsible for the service delivery of our internal IT systems and be the primary contact and decision maker for all IT service issues and their resolution. Any issues that cannot be resolved need to be escalated to the appropriate individual/team to ensure the delivery of high quality services

Part of your role will be to review and approve change requests, identifying any potential risks. You will also be expected to identify and implement improvements to IT Operations processes and systems, supporting the development of any new/amended IT solutions.

The operations team also have responsibility for covering the IT Service Desk outside of Service Desk hours, providing the function for both internal services and external managed services

The successful candidate must have the ability to be security cleared at the necessary level for this role.

What are my hours of work?

You’ll be working 37.5 hours per week on a personal shift pattern, and will also be required to provide on-call support.O
