OneFamily are recruiting for an experienced IT Digital Developer to join our central Brighton office. This person will act as the "go-to" subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of best practices and standards.

Purpose of Role:

To deliver high quality, public facing web software solutions aligned to business objectives and architectural guidelines. To ensure that software being delivered is of a high standard in terms of fit, application design and code quality. To ensure standards and practices are followed and supported. To provide development and subject matter expertise.

Contribute to ensure the OneFamily IT Online & Digital Team focus and deliver a cohesive online presence of the highest standard. Deliver best-in-class front-end code across a broad array of interactive web and mobile projects.

Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including smartphones and tablets. Understand when mobile web apps are appropriate as opposed to native applications.

Act as the "go-to" subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices and standards. Use research-related services, theories and methods to support your recommendations.

Skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Understanding of online technologies such as social media, and open source technologies such as Bootstrap, AngularJS, HTML5.

  • Understanding and experience to include the following skills:

  • Integrating HTML/CSS into ASP.NET environment using Visual Studio

  • Standards-compliant code

  • Developing for search engine optimisation

  • Analytics solutions, such as Google Analytics

  • Version control systems

  • PHP include function to manage common elements

  • CSS systems such as LESS and SASS to compile style files

  • Extensive working knowledge of online UX technologies and standards.

  • Good working knowledge of CMS systems.

  • To be able to estimate and plan own workloads and deliver to agreed timescales.

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet business critical deadlines and SLAs.

  • Ability to demonstrate and communicate strategic thinking and vision, using creativity and innovation to set clear direction.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to articulate complex problems and solutions to technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Demonstrates accountability; owns outcomes and results, prioritises tasks, and consistently meets deadlines.

  • Proven commercial experience of working on large corporate projects, operating under pressure and supporting Business Essential workloads.

  • Ability to evaluate new solutions, procedures & practices, ensuring final solutions are simple to understand and practical to implement.

  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodology in an online environment.

  • Working knowledge of legal requirements that could impact OneFamily’s online presence, such as accessibility.

  • Professional, self-motivated, pro-active individual, capable of assimilating information quickly in order to be effective in a short period of time.

  • Ability to gain the confidence of OneFamily’s management team, working in partnership with internal and external customers and suppliers.
