My client, a large retail organisation with Headquarters in Manchester is seeking a Regulatory Assurance Officer to join their existing team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate Retail/Facilities experience along with a knowledge of compliance documentation and qualifications (NEBOSH/ISO9001).

Working closely with the client’s estates services you will be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders within the department to provide bespoke technical compliance support.

This role will focus on assessing the organisations compliance and identifying and risks and issues, not managing compliance. The team currently carry out around 300 audits per annum, individually this breaks down to around 2 each a week across their 120 suppliers.

You will be responsible for assessing the compliance of suppliers via audits (desk based and site based), along with meeting suppliers on site and supporting follow up meetings

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct service assurance and compliance audits (covering HS&E / CDM and building regulations) across works delivered by Estates Services to ensure the business is protected and risk mitigated where reasonably practicable.
• Translate and deliver the measurement, auditing, reporting and communication of non-compliance to defined internal processes and standards and legislative requirements to identify and promote best practice and areas of continuous improvement across the teams in Estates Services.
• Champion one or more relevant areas for Estates Services (e.g. CDM / Asbestos / Fire / etc.) to be the technical expert and work collaboratively to share that knowledge across the teams.
• Publish and update risk logs, compliance trackers, training trackers and be responsible for ensuring we have a data trial which meets legislative requirements e.g. EHO or enforcement notices relating to Estates Services.

Required Skills/Qualifications
• Relevant compliance qualifications e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, Asbestos, CDM, Construction, FM or related experience.
• Experience conducting audits to an agreed set of standards
• Broad practical experience of retail and facilities
• Experience of measuring and improving processes
• Exposure to developing and training people
• Track record of delivering to schedules
