Our client a rapidly growing broker currently seeks a Head of IT to manage a team of 15 - 20 people 6 onshore in the city with the rest based in Eastern Europe.

The right candidate will still be hands on and technical with a likely Windows / Microsoft bias and good knowledge of: 

Windows and Linux Server Ops
Global Desktop and site support
Help Desk
Information Security
Collabortation technologies (Voice, Video, Mobile)

They would also have a background in a relevant industry in Finance, Banking, Brokerage or Trading

Key responsibilities

Management of IT Team consisting of 2 IT Managers (1 London / 1 E Europe); 2 PMs (E Europe); IT Team Coordinator (London); Desktop Support / Application Packaing Engineer (London); 10 Sys Admin (1 London / 9 E Europe); Security Analyst (London); It Assistant (London). 

- General IT Management systems, Desktops, Infrsturcture
- Trading servers infrastructures
- Trading and banking applications; back office systems
- IT environment compliance with the BoE requirements and ISO 27001
- Data protection and prevention of frauds and hack attacks
- Architecture of the network
- Business continuity and recovery plan
- Budgeting and negotiation skills dealing with vendors
- Lead IT and Security strategic and operational planning prioritizing IT and Security initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT applications across the Company
- Act as an advocate for the organization`s IT and Security visions via regular communication and collaboration with the Executive Team, department leaders and stakeholders, and key end users
- Take an active role in the recruiting of IT talent
- Facilitate the continuous improvement of IT and Security processes, policies, and procedures for ensuring that applications, network systems and assets are safeguarded
- Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT and Security
