One of the UK's best known Membership Associations is looking for a new Relationship Manager, based in London, to maintain and to grow their partnerships within the Higher Education Sector in the South of England.

Key responsibilities

  • To develop the Partnership relationship with new and existing Higher Education Institutions
  • Maximise any new partnership opportunities arising from engagement with other external relationships
  • Up-sell and Cross-sell into all existing Partnerships
  • Develop and grow Partnership development plan for all existing and new partners
  • Maximise all leads and business opportunities
  • Achieve all income targets from a portfolio of HE Partner Accounts
  • Develop plans to increase the average revenue per account whilst ensuring that income retention targets are met
  • Strategically drive any networks including events in order to increase income
  • Prepare and present proposals to Partners
  • Be involved in shaping the institute's products and services
  • Develop strong relationships with multiple stakeholders in each Partner organisation
  • Oversee the delivery of services to your clients
  • Undertake regular reviews with your clients to ensure the quality of provision is maintained
  • Use Partner activities to increase the profile of the Institute
  • Support relevant media activity as directed

Success Criteria

Targets to be met or exceeded:

  • Achieving monthly income targets for all accounts
  • Achieving monthly targets from appropriate product mixes and average case size with minimum call levels
  • Achieving monthly targets on qualification registrations
  • High level of customer satisfaction
  • Self development and continuing professional development


Relationship Manager - Membership / Higher Education


  • Proven sales track record
  • Proven track record of Account Management
  • Consultative selling skills
  • Target driven and commercially focused
  • Ability to influence at Board level
  • Excellent Relationship Management skills
  • Professional with personal integrity
  • Self motivated as well as a team player


  • Experience selling into or managing accounts within the Higher Education sector
  • Experience working for a membership Association
  • Knowledge of e-learning and other online products
  • Some media experience

Job Offer

A basic salary of £38,000 plus bonus paid quarterly (year one additional earnings approximately £30,000)
