Do you love singing along to the radio? Do you love to bowl, especially if you`re getting a strike? If you answered yes to either of these question`s then you`re going to get along amazingly with the people we support.

We are currently looking to expand our team of dedicated support workers who are based in Ilford and are supporting 4 people who have a learning disability.

You don`t really need to have any of the above interests or dancing skills but you do need to answer yes to the below questions:

  • Are you enthusiastic, supportive and positive?
  • Do you like to help and ensure that people live the life they want to lead?
  • Are you looking for a fun and motivated company who offer genuine career opportunities?

You will provide support in every aspect of their lives including personal care, medication, finances, daily living skills etc. 2 of the people we support are nonverbal and 2 have limited speech and they communicate using signs, gestures, objects of reference etc. These individuals like to be fully involved in everything that is happening with their lives and need you to ensure this happens for them.

Being a Support Worker isn`t just about making day to day life as easy and happy as possible but it`s also about creating days that can only be described as spectacular!! By looking at the additional information attached you will get an idea around what one of the people we support loves! A spectacular day could be anything from going to watch a Chelsea match, redecorating the home or attending regular community clubs. No day is the same as a support worker!

Support workers must be flexible in the hours they can work, as support can be required 24 hours a day. You will work on a rota basis throughout the week, weekends and bank holidays with sleep-ins as well.

One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.

An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
