Tax Accountant

An opportunity to work for a global organisation focused on research within the pharmaceutical industry. You will work in a role that transcends all areas of tax and covers multiple countries acrosss Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Company:

A large business with over 25 years experience of delivering outsourced clinical research trials and projects back to various different pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. This company competes at the very highest level within the clinical research space, and has an impressive setup globally across numerous countries with nearing 20,000 employees.

The Role:

This Tax Accountant will essentially be get involved in areas such corporate tax, VAT, income tax, and social security. You will interact with a broad remit covering Europe, Asia and the Pacific. Key duties will include:

- Preparing UK corporation tax returns for all UK companies

- Calculating and reviewing overseas corporate tax payments and review of payment dates

- Preparing quarterly US GAAP tax provisions

- Preparing tax disclosures for the UK GAAP financial statements

- Supporting the team for a variety of other UK tax filings and correspondence

- Preparing of transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements

- Reviewing overseas corporate tax returns prepared by outsourced service providers, to be approved by the Tax Manager / Tax Director

The Candidate:

This Tax Accountant role would suit a qualified accountant looking to move from practice in to a first industry role. The position requires the following profile:

- Degree qualified

- ACA or CTA qualified

- Ideally coming from a 'Big 4' practice with experience in corporate tax

- Advanced Excel skills

- Strong analytical skills

- Impressive attention to detail

- Ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision where required

Remuneration:

The successfully appointed Tax Accountant can expect to earn between £35,000 - £50,000 basic p/a depending on their previous experience level, as well as a company benefits package on top.
