To support this their IT organisation seeks an IT support engineer to assist in the efficient support operation of the company and the services it provides to customers, by finding and implementing solutions in a speedy and helpful manner. The Engineer will support and internal customers in the areas of (and not limited to) LAN/WAN/VOIP and Mobile Device support and Management, Office 365, desktop and laptop installations and support, and Help Desk.

Job Accountabilities:

- First line IT support
- Office desktop and laptop support & installations
- Automated software installations
- Mobile device support (Android/IOS)
- Monitoring of alerts
- Escalation to senior technicians where needed
- Active Directory Administration
- Remote user support
- Local printer support
- Internal and external Mobile Device Management (MDM) tasks
- Daily checklist tasks such as backup maintenance
- Occasional trips to customer's sites to aid in training and/or technical projects or issues

The Individual - Specific Job Knowledge and Experience:

Skills and Aptitudes

Job knowledge:

- Minimum 1-2 years working in an IT support environment
- Microsoft Windows 7/10 desktop and server knowledge
- Familiar with Microsoft Office desktop publishing tools (cloud and on-premise)
- WAN/LAN/VOIP experience an advantage
- Aware of security technologies such as Firewall, IPS or IDS
- Familiar with Unified Communications technologies
- Mobile phone (Android/IOS) technical knowledge an advantage
- ITIL (or similar Service Management methodology) aware
- Familiar with Unified Communications technologies


- IT-related qualifications preferred
- Technical certifications (Microsoft, Cisco etc) desirable
- ITIL Foundation desirable but not essential
