As a PR Manager known at Canon UK as a Campaign, PR & Social Media Team Leader, Reigate, Surrey, reporting to the Corporate & Marketing Communications Manager, you'll use your leadership skills to manage a team of 5 subject matter experts.
The key purpose of the role is to manage the implementation of Pan European (PE) and Canon UK and Ireland tactical campaigns to include BTL, PR and Social Media elements. You'll act as a Canon UK and Ireland spokesperson and manage press evaluation & monitoring. Using your project management skills, you'll manage all press and social events for UK & Ireland and manage internal communication channels and ensure messages are aligned with Canon Europe and external communications.
What We Give:
You'll implement and measure all B2B, B2C and Corporate campaigns to directly support business objectives and will align the PE PR and Social strategy, define, develop, implement and measure Canon UK and Ireland tactical campaigns against immediate business needs.
Managing that process, you'll approve related press releases, supporting documents and editorial with key stakeholders for specific product categories/groups. Using your accuracy skills, you'll ensure that these documents are accurate and factual and delivered on time.
Developing innovative thought leadership, you'll take overall responsibility in delivering through your team social media projects and manage Canon UK and Ireland's profile within social media
Using your relationship skills, you'll manage Canon's corporate profile with media & analysts and manage the relations with agencies providing clear briefings and reviewing their performance.
You'll successfully manage campaigns, press and social activities and content events and launches and will evaluate those camapaign approaches, provide reports and plans based on PR KPI (Metrica analysis).
Your strong relationship skills and the mangement of those relationships will be with Journalists, influencers and spokespeople.
As a team leader you will have overall responsiblity for all Campaign, PR and Social activities. Responsible for objective setting and performance management of direct reports, whilst having the the support of your line manager.
Part of the role will include internal communications including company and employee announcements - cascaded from Canon Europe as well as Canon UK and Ireland announcements. Internal communications extend to managing editorial production for Canon UK and Ireland employee publications, such as magazines and intranet as well as managing pan European employee communication cascade, e.g. new year address, mid year business update
Ensure all communications are in line with company philosophy of Kyosei and promote CSR initiatives internally.
Internally you will liaise with the Corporate & Marketing Communication Team, Canon Europe, CUK Executive Team, Marketing Directors, B2B and B2C. Externally you will be liaising with Journalists, influencers, Local Agencies, Performance Reporting Agency.

Implement and measure all PE Business Imaging , PE Consumer Imaging and Corporate PR campaigns to directly support business objectives. Aligned to the PE PR strategy, define, develop, implement and measure local tactical PR campaigns against immediate business needs. Manage local process approval of press releases, support documents and editorial with key stakeholders for specific product categories/groups.
Ensure these are accurate and factual and sent on time. Develop innovative Thought Leadership and social media projects and manage Canon local profile with this media. Manage corporate profile with media & analysts. Manage local agency briefings and performance reviews. Management of press activities and content at PR events and launches, Evaluation, reporting and planning based on PR Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (Metrica analysis).
What We Ask:
You will have proven PR experience and ideally educated to a degree level or equivalent
Team Leader/supervisory experience
Excellent English language skills including working effectively with all internal stakeholders and external agencies
Self motivated, pragmatic with a high level of initiative and drive to succeed
Ability to plan and organize workload effectively to meet required deadlines

Salary - £41,643 - £43,957 + 10% bonus
