Our client, a successful Bromley based Solicitors, are seeking an experienced full-time Legal Cashier to assist in the smooth running of the practice by attending to the various financial transactions arising from the work of the firm and its internal operation. You will need to have good attention to detail and have strong communication skills to meet deadlines within this small but friendly team.

• To ensure all account balances are reconciled and that procedures comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules
• To monitor all Bank Accounts and to include cross checking of bank statements and reconciliations
• To sort out accounting/accounts computer problems
• To maintain the Purchase/Counsel fees ledger
• To ensure that bills and transfers are processed promptly
• The administration and reconciliation of petty cash
• To oversee the banking and drawing of cheques
• To open, verify and input new client matters, where appropriate
• Input and monitoring of Client Identification
• To provide Practice Director with the firm’s balances on a daily basis to ensure that the firm does not exceed any overdraft limits
• To produce financial information as requested by the Practice Director or Partners
• To adapt all internal systems to make certain that fee earners are providing all required information to the accounts department
• The processing of bank transfers
• The control of designated client deposit accounts
• The implementation of the credit control procedure
• To ensure that client confidentiality is not breached
• To provide cover for other areas of the administration department due to holiday, sickness absence or for some other reason
• To undertake other or new administrative or accounting functions as directed or as become necessary
• Any other reasonable tasks as required

• Minimum two years’ experience in a busy legal practice
• Good ICT skills including Microsoft Office package
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
• Numerate, efficient, methodical and trustworthy
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent organisation skills
• Professional, proactive and a good team player
• Helpful, presentable and pleasant nature
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Good working knowledge of SARs
