An excellent opportunity has arisen with a London Borough aiming to roll-out 20mh zones across large swathes of a very busy highway network.

This role has been deemed to be inside IR35, so contractor working practises will need to comply accordingly.

Role Description - delivery of 20mph area wide speed limits.

·Oversee the consultant and contractor delivering signage on site, effectively manage their performance and respond to customer queries and complaints. Deal with stakeholders at all levels including internal contacts up to director level, service heads, design managers, contract managers, site staff and other teams.
·Monitoring of areas already implemented, analysis of monitoring results and feasibility studies/options development for mitigation of speeding hotspots discovered through monitoring outcomes. Prioritising any supplementary measures in conjunction with ward councillors/cabinet member.
·Experience of contract performance monitoring required to manage physical implementation of schemes on site, while ensuring complaints and queries dealt with swiftly. Responding via email or letter to stakeholder queries and complaints.
·Key external contacts - Metropolitan Police force, Safer Neighbourhood Police teams. Residents associations, constituency MPs, campaigning groups and individuals
·Key political and community contacts - ward councillors, cabinet member and shadow cabinet member.
·Person skills - the 20mph speed limits project is politically sensitive and the person appointed will have demonstrable skills in working in a highly charged political environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, appropriate level of tact and diplomacy are required when dealing with stakeholders, who range from those who strongly agree with the project to those who strongly oppose it.
