A primary school in Northumberland is working with First Class Supply to appoint a HLTA on a permanent contract starting in September 2017, this Fixed Term Contract is for 1 year.

Your main responsibility will be to conduct Year 4 and 5 reading intervention sessions as well as working collaboratively with the teaching team to support the National Curriculum, planning and managing resources and raising standards in learning and delivering set lessons.

You will need to have a proven track record in a HLTA role, knowledge of Intervention strategies and be able to demonstrate a positive impact on pupil development. 

To be successful in this role you must:

- be creative, supportive, flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated
- have the confidence and skills to plan for, work with and assess the progress of the pupil –under the direction of the class teacher
- be able to use your initiative to work independently
- have recent experience in a HLTA role, which has given you an up to date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
- hold a relevant child care qualification at Level 4 or above.

This is a larger than average sized school that has an Ofsted rating of Good with elements of Outstanding. The leadership of the school is very strong and pupils have a very positive attitude to learning. The schools key stage two faculty have been praised for inspiring their pupils which has had a huge impact in the progression students make in KS2.
