Civil Engineering Manager – Leeds – £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

What sort of work environment do you look for?

How about one which is committed to creating a fun workplace, where people have a voice, are safe, reach their potential and prosper, and where rewards are shared?

My client here is a leading civil engineering and construction company operating mainly within the water industry. They have experienced significant growth over the last couple of years, now directly employing over 1000 staff, 250 of which joined in 2016 and numbers are projected to increase further still throughout 2017. Furthermore they strongly believe in investing in employees, spending more than £1m on training and development in 2016.

Looking to increase engineering capability by appointing an Engineering Manager to the Northern area of the business to work alongside the existing Manager based in the south, you will cover all operations in the North, meaning travel will be required between regional construction sites and offices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support approach to temporary works
- Co-ordinate training
- Appoint colleagues to roles after training
- Provide expert support to operational teams
- Conduct audits to identify areas for improvement
- Work with internal stakeholders to progress a broad range of strategic engineering initiatives covering sustainable construction, BIM and off-site build as well as supporting the internal graduate development programmes.

The Engineering Manager represents the Company externally, attending and contributing to industry forums and similar bodies, reporting directly into a Board Director.
