Athona Recruitment are seeking qualified Mental Health Nurses to work in Oxford for a prestigious group of NHS community hospitals. This position will be ad-hoc work which means you can choose the dates and times that you would like to work with full flexibility.

About the Trust

The NHS Trust provides mental health services, either in our Community Hospitals or within local communities, helping to support people both in their homes and as near to their homes as possible.

About the role

You will join a busy and dynamic team providing the very best levels of clinical care. You'll make sure that all procedures are carried out to the highest standards, optimising the well being of every patient. You see every person in your care as an individual, and work closely with the wider team to create an environment that delivers skilled nursing care, clear communication, and respect and dignity for everyone.


* Planning nursing care requirements
* Building relationships with patients
* Combating stigma and helping patients and their families deal with it
* Administering medication
* Giving advice and arranging support for patients, relatives and carers
* Liaising with doctors, social workers and other professionals
* Writing and updating patient records

Full time, part time and ad-hoc shifts available.


* Registered nurse degree with a current UK NMC Pin- essential
* Relevant UK experience working in a similar position, preferably working in hospitals.
* Knowledge in the following; Health and Safety, Basic Life Support and Manual Handling, certification dated within the last year - desirable but not essential
* A clear, in-date DBS - desirable but not essential
* Evidence of post-registration education/development
* Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
