The Role:
I am working with a governing body based Slough and Uxbridge who are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to join the company.
The System Administrator is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers.
The System Administrator seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers he or she manages meet the needs of the users, without exceeding the budget and other constraints.
A System Administrator will acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software; provide routine automation; maintain security policies; troubleshoot; train and/or supervise staff; or offer technical support for projects.

Responsibilities:
Communicates fluently, orally and in writing, and can present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives. Plans, schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets.
Rapidly absorbs new information and applies it effectively. Maintains an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes some responsibility for driving own development.

Job Description:
Analyses system performance and logs and identifies and resolves potential issues with computer systems.
Performs routine audit of systems and software and applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Introduces and integrates new technologies into existing infrastructure environments, installing and configuring new hardware and software.
Documents systems designs, configuration and changes and provides technical support to counterparts within ICT.
Administrates user accounts, security and access controls on relevant systems when requested and provides 2nd tier support in incidents and problem investigations.
To identify and suggest any improvements to current ways of working in order to deliver a more efficient and effective service for customers.

Required Skills:
Knowledge and experience in general systems maintenance
VMWare accreditation or equivalent
Microsoft accreditation or equivalent in Servers, Desktops and Administration
Knowledge of Hosting Environments and Platforms and their administration
