Principal Software Engineer, Dorset, £45,000 - £50,000

A global organisation is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to work at their site in Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity in a engineering / manufacturing organisation, involving the release of a new product.

Working within a high technology environment the Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for all aspects related to the development and enhancement of software solutions connected to both the clients new product and existing product range. From initial concept / problem identification, through developing bespoke and tailor-made programmes and finishing with testing and commissioning you will have the opportunity to make a real impact at every stage.

In order to be considered for this position candidates need to have proven programming experience with either C#, C++ or Java. In addition to this candidates need to have Software Engineering / Software Development experience from within an engineering / manufacturing environment. It would be advantageous to have experience in any of the following: special purpose machinery, vision systems, motion control, robotics, servo drives, motors, pick and place machinery or an understanding of how hardware integrates with software. It would also be advantageous to have knowledge / experience of TDD (Test Driven Development), BDD (Behaviour Driven Development, .net development, SOLID principles or Design Patterns. A formal degree qualification is preferred, however relevant experience will be considered.

This role for a Principal Software Engineer is commutable from Bournemouth, Poole, Dorchester, Yeovil, Wimborne, Weymouth and other locations within Dorset / Somerset / Devon and the South West.
