Energy Projects Engineer

A unique and varied position for an Energy Project Engineer has become available working for a very important Automotive Manufacturing company based in Swindon, Wiltshire on a permanent basis. The main purpose of your role will be to project lead various energy reduction themes across the company in line with ISO50001 requirements.

As Energy Projects Engineer you will play a key part in having to come up with innovative and unique solutions to problems which will have a direct impact to the performance of the business.
The challenges that you will be presented with will be varied and diverse keeping the role interesting and is a fantastic opportunity in developing your skills and experience
You will be exposed to all areas of project work and gain a diverse overview of the business and be a position which can often lead to future development opportunities.

Main responsibilities:

* Leading project energy reduction themes
* Carrying out project feasibility studies
* Generating equipment specification
* Assisting with cost negotiation with external suppliers and contractors
* Creating and working to manufacturing control plans
* Contributing towards budget control
* Supporting investment presentations
* Supervising contractors

To be considered for the position of Energy Projects Engineer you must have/be:

* Completed an Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship
* Experience of programming PLC's, HMI's, SCADA etc
* Able to create and interpret mechanical & electrical drawings
* Project Management experience

It would be highly advantageous to have:

* Knowledge of energy management systems
* Knowledge of PUWER, CE marking, ATEX Standards etc.
* An HNC in an Engineering discipline
* Experience of working in automotive manufacturing

No two days are the same and you will need to be able to react and change priorities at very little notice. The ability to self-manage your workload is essential. Strong communication skills are a must have as and you will need to be pressure across multiple projects, often under significant delivery pressure.
