Position: Advanced Electrical Engineering Apprentice
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme/Stoke-om-Trent
Type / Duration: Apprenticeship / 4 years
Salary circa: £6.85 per hour + benefits

Role Description:

Our well respected manufacturing client are currently recruiting for an Advanced Electrical Apprentice. This position gives you the chance to train for a highly skilled role; gain a nationally recognised qualification and get paid while you learn.

The apprenticeship will last for about 4 years and combine residential study at a college in Birmingham, with on-the-job learning with an experienced mentor. On completion of the Apprenticeship you will achieve a BTEC Level 3 qualification and a NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering.

As well as training and qualifications, you will also be paid a competitive rate of pay starting at £6.85 p/h, in your first year and you will also be eligible for benefits, including a defined contribution pension scheme. They will also encourage your continued professional development after you have qualified.

Examples of subjects studied are:

Electronic and Electrical Principles
Principles and operation of Three-Phase Systems
Features and Applications of Electrical Machines
Electronic Fault Finding

Requirements:

Our client are looking for someone who is practical – good with their hands – who can demonstrate a positive approach to work, participate in a team environment and able to use their own initiative.

You will need a minimum of 3 GCSE’s at a Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science. A GCSE in ICT would also be advantageous.

Enthusiasm, commitment and reliability are essential.

A Full UK Driving Licence and your own transport is desirable but not essential.

Please note the first year of the apprenticeship will require you to stay in Birmingham, and attend the EEF Training School during term time.
