Multi-Axis Machine Setter Operator
Ripley, Derbyshire

As an established and experienced group of manufacturing companies, my client is an extremely reputable business, with the Engineering division being in a superb state of the art manufacturing facility, based in Ripley, Derbyshire.

With over 35 years' experience in the engineering field, they have an enviable reputation for quality and engineering prowess.

Due to continued growth and an expanding order book, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Multi-Axis Machine Setter Operator to join their established team.

As a Multi-Axis Machine Setter Operator you will:

* Machine components from various material types in accordance with drawings and related instructions. These will be to the required standard and quality requirements, which are defined within the drawings or the supporting documentation.
* Produce small batch work of selected components and occasional one-offs
* Ensure that your work area is safe and you are working safely. You'll need to comply with the local safety requirements of the site
* Adhere to and agreed Maintenance schedule; carrying out daily checks, completing relevant care documentation and advising repair requirements to the necessary contacts within the business
* Report any positive of negative aspects of your shift to the recognised representatives or via the in-house reporting procedures


In order to be considered for this Multi-Axis Setter Operator role it is expected that you will have:

* A recognised engineering background with experience of either 3 7 4 axis machining or 5 axis machining
* Ability to read and understand aerospace engineering drawings
* Experience of utilising Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain and Mazatrol controllers (or a combination of these)
* Experience of working in a production/manufacturing/machining environment
* Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
* The ability to be forward thinking and with a strong planning mentality
* An ability to make decisions, both as part of the manufacturing team and also independently
* A challenging mind set and ability to consider improvements to the manufacturing process
* Quality at the forefront of everything you do and be committed to getting things right first time

You will need to:

* Be time served (C&G) or educated to HNC level in a relevant engineering discipline
* Be experienced with multi-axis machines
* Have the ability to program offline or on the machine
* Have sound knowledge and abilities with Mazatrol controls and programing
* An understanding of lean manufacturing principles and methodology (5's, Kaizen, 6 sigma etc.)
