Fantastic opportunity to join a well established company based in Newbury. Our client is looking for a IT Support Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. Working Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5.15pm with 1 hour break and offering a salary of £21,000 to £23,000 depending on experience.

Role and Responsibilities:
The Support Engineer role is critical to the Businesses service offering. As the Support Engineer your duties will be operational in addition to managing a small dedicated group of junior engineers. You will also be the escalation point for any technical engineering issues arising from a telephone based customer support facility which provides remote diagnostics support to typically field engineers and service managers who are installing our products on site.

The overriding objective is to provide effective day-to-day management and support of the team members in order to deliver a consistently high quality and accurate service which is driven by an understanding of the customer's needs and expectations. Those that are successful in the role are typically capable of processing relatively complex logical concepts and/or have an interest in technology, computing or electronics. Training will be provided.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
* The Senior Engineer is expected to help with the training and development of the Junior Engineers.
* The Senior Engineer needs to have a good diagnostic fault finding approach with good technical skills. The company however will look to develop the Senior Engineers further with a lot of specific training and development.
* The Senior Engineer will become the first point of contact for all other departments within the company, so it will be your responsibility to ensure effective communication channels are in place within the Technical Support department in order to distribute or inform of the given work load ( Upgrades, Projects, Transfers, etc.).
* The Senior Engineer must manage all customer support email in boxes, making sure the relevant assistance is provided within a reasonable time frame and that other departments of the company are informed when required of such assistance provided.
* As a Senior Engineer you will be expected to identify and assist in embedding appropriate quality improvements and measures linked directly to the customer support delivery.

The ideal candidate:
* Must have team leadership & general management skills in addition to sound technical capabilities.
* Any relevant experience is desirable, but training will be provided.
* Microsoft Office suite (useful)
* Customer service skills
* Professionalism & Integrity are essential
* Hardworking team player
* Ambitious with a willingness to learn
