Finance Officer - Payroll and Sales Ledger

Salary £27,500 per annum


Permanent, 35 hours per week

Our client provide homes for social rent, shared ownership and leasehold accommodation, and they run their own in-house repairs service.

An opportunity has now arisen for a Finance Officer specialising in payroll and sales ledger to join their busy Finance team. This is a varied role which will involve preparing the monthly payroll for c.180 employees and maintaining the sales ledger to ensure debts are collected in a timely manner.

This is a key role within their finance team and would suit a proactive and motivated team player who thrives under pressure and can meet tight deadlines without compromising on accuracy. You will need previous experience of processing payroll and knowledge of payroll-related legislation, along with a good working knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles and/or sales ledger experience.

Highly numerate and with excellent administration skills, you will be meticulous and thorough in your approach with accurate data entry skills. A proficient IT user, you must have experience of using payroll software in a previous role. Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths, you will ideally possess, or be studying towards, a payroll qualification and/or a professional accounting qualification.
