Compliance Manager, Bury St Edmunds

£25,000 per annum

Compliance Manager required for our client based near to Bury St Edmunds. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the internal audit process are reported daily/weekly/monthly as appropriate, keeping downtime to a minimum, by effectively complying with government legislation required by the business. Keeping up to date with changes in transport legislation and how this impacts on business operation. Daily responsibilities to include:

  • Allocating jobs and workloads, scheduling and completing team–related paperwork

  • Monitoring holidays and sickness of all team members

  • Deputising for the Operations Manager in his absence

  • Managing staff performance and development, including new starter probation, appraisals, one to one meetings and performance reviews

  • Managing manufacturer’s recalls, safety recalls, policies and procedures to ensure compliance is maintained at all times

  • To ensure compliance with customer’s Operators licences

  • To ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly audits are completed on time and accurately

  • To ensure that all client vehicle documentation and service records are kept up to date and legally compliant at all times and that detailed records are made on client database

  • To ensure that service and maintenance providers comply with the maintenance and safety inspection programmes that apply to Fleet equipment and vehicles

  • To ensure the amount of vehicles hired for maintenance replacements is kept to a minimum by scheduling maintenance to natural periods of inactivity

  • To ensure a full compliance report is prepared using client and in house procedures and presented to client on a daily / monthly basis

The successful candidate will ideally have recognised commercial motor vehicle apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds or other relevant qualification. You must possess strong personnel management and negotiating skills and be an effective user of Microsoft Office suite. A detailed vehicle engineering knowledge would be advantageous.
