We are recruiting for Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leader in development of Automation Machinery. You will join the Cambridge based design team as a key member leading the innovation of new automation machinery and automation robots. The ideal candidate will have excellent machinery development skills and strong Solidworks experience.

Responsibilities of Mechanical Design Engineer (Automation Machinery)

* Use 3D computer aided design packages ( Solidworks ) to design and specify new automation machinery and parts.
* Take conceptual designs through to working samples and specifications for commercial product
* Assess the feasibility of producing a new automation machine or modifying an existing automation machine that is available in the market to meet the requirements
* Assist in the generation of new ideas for automation Machinery and processes
* Commissioning a wide variety of machinery

Skills and Experience Required:

* Good mechanical engineering skills - Hands on individual
* Innovative thinker
* In depth experience working as mechanical Designer / or CAD Design Engineer on automated machinery development
* 3D CAD development experience using Solidworks
* Self-motivated individual, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
* An effective team member
* Mechanical engineering certification/qualification
* Experience with programming PLC's for automated machinery beneficial
* Electrical training and qualification beneficial
* KUKA robot programming training and experience beneficial

Location: Saffron Walden (commutable from Cambridge, Bedford, Stevenage, St Neots, Bishop's Stortford, Hitchin, Greater London, London, etc )

Salary: £40k - £50k + Bens
