Joining them as a Facilities Maintenance Manager, you will strategically plan and deliver an efficient and effective high quality Facilities Management Service for the Group stock and third party buildings including private and commercial, Council public buildings and schools, both within and outside the Stockport borough.

Leading in the strategic planning function for facilities incorporating long term stock condition analysis, improvement programmes and reactive maintenance approaches to building and facilities on a short, medium and long term basis, you will create individual, bespoke asset management plans and strategies for planned maintenance regimes and provide overall management of the Facilities management Services programme provided by the Group.

Carrying out site meetings with contractors/consultants and ensuring that all procurement is compliant with our financial and procurement rules, you must lead and inspire the Facilities Management team to deliver excellent services and effectively manage all budgets and ensure that all work programmes are delivered on time and to budget.

To be successful in this role, candidates must have an understanding of the Facilities Management industry, both in the public and private sector, effective leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of all Facilities Maintenance areas within the school environment including Asbestos, Legionella, Gas and Electrical installations. Able to operate effectively in the commercial repairs world and understand how external contractors compete for and win works, you should have excellent communication skills and the ability to change staff culture by building ‘one team’ where staff own and are part of solutions.
