Quantity Surveyor / Employers Agent working alongside the Head of Contract Management to successfully manage and deliver residential housing developments across the Norwich and Norfolk region for Newbury New Homes.

The role would cover the whole project life-cycle from initial inception, feasibility studies, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and completion phase.
You should possess the skills and experience to actively support the internal team, helping to develop collaborative relationships with our clients and other industry professionals.

Principle Accountability:

• Assisting with feasibility studies and cost appraisals on development opportunities
• Cash flow creation, monitoring and reporting
• Bank monitoring and reporting
• Main contractor tender processes and procurement
• Valuation processing internally and externally. Measure and assess the work undertaken and then submit detailed, accurate and timely applications
• Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are received on time
• Ensure the accurate and timely evaluation and agreement of final quantities, revised and additional items, rates and compensation events
• Identify additional entitlement under the contract
• Identify and realise opportunities to maximise cost/value management
• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly valuation reports
• Procurement and management of subcontract packages alongside the contract team
• Evaluate risks and review project risk register
• Preparation of contractual claims
• Cost interrogation and reduction
• Assess construction and development costs on current schemes to utilise on future developments

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Good technical writing and IT literacy across the standard range of Microsoft systems
• Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
• A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
• Strong experience of delivering residential projects from inception to completion.
• Good understanding of project Governance and procurement processes.
• Client facing experience acting as Employer's Agent on projects would be helpful
• Good Understanding of JCT Contracts particularly Design and Build procurement


• BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
• Chartered Status with the RICS or other equivalent institution
• A minimum of 5 years’ technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy or housing developer at Senior Level
