Your new company 

A leading global healthcare supplier which manufactures and distributes over the counter (OTC) and prescription (Rx) pharmaceuticals, active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and other nutritional products. Having a diverse and extensive supply chain they now require a Global Strategic Sourcing Manager of Raw Materials to work out of their offices in Ireland. Founded over 75 years ago they have had considerable success in the United States which they're seeking to emulate in Europe. Recently investing in millions of square feet of production, R&D, and Logistics space, they are taking this new activity extremely seriously. 

Your new role 

As the Sourcing Manager of External Manufacturing / CMO you will report to the Global Strategic Sourcing Manager, acting as the primary liaison point to the External Manufacturing/CMO supply base, and providing best in class global sourcing for all regionally procured External Manufacturing. You will drive a culture of optimum quality within the supply base, ensure timely execution of product launches and providing exceptional strategic sourcing expertise to the supply base. You will utilise your relationship management, operations optimisation, continuous improvement, contract design & oversight skills to deliver best total cost, pushing the implementation of best practice in the procurement of external manufacturing.

What you'll need to succeed 

You will be degree qualified and will have come from a solid pharmaceutical background. You will have gained experience in supply chain with recent and successful exposure to sourcing or procurement in these fields. With exceptional communication skills you will be able to influence without authority and be an expert negotiator and leader, using proven project/programme management expertise to demonstrably implement processes. CIPS qualification or equivalent is desirable and a minimum of intermediate level proficiency of the MS office suite is essential.
