These skills are deployed across all areas of the access network and cover functions such as civils, cabling, jointing, poling and maintenance of the physical networks and its associated assets. Role - Works Control Manager
Location - Chorley

Purpose of the role;

To manage the individuals within the Regional Coordination team, ensuring work is executed, reported on and completed efficiently, in accordance with Street works legalisation and Contract delivery timescales and processes.

To ensure Coordination of Streetworks Administrative of work is executed, reported upon and completed efficiently and in accordance with the with New Roads and Streetworks 1991 and associated legislation and regulation and Contract delivery timescales and processes.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of individuals within the Coordination team, ensuring work is executed, reported on and completed efficiently, in accordance with Street works legalisation and Contract delivery timescales and processes.

Key Objectives;

- To lead a team of work co-ordinators to deliver the required customer results across a specified work area or geography.
- To ensure sufficient resources are available in the team to meet requirements
- To manage and maintain high levels of competence in the work undertaken by the coordination team
- To develop and empower individuals within the coordination team
- To act upon and address matters escalated internally and externally
- To liaise with the client, local authorities and other third parties
- To offer a high standard of customer service
- To monitor and manage record keeping
- To comply with the relevant Health and Safety Policy provisions
- To perform other duties as required
- To ensure all agreed client and internal KPI's are met or exceeded
- To drive root cause analysis of failure, improvement action plans, monitoring and reporting such that KPIs for which the Regional Control Manager is responsible are achieved or bettered.
- To assure governance in New Roads and Streetworks 1991 legislation and regulation, including those affected by elements of the Traffic Management Act 2004

Accountabilities;

- Own the day-to-day operational relationship with Supplier Performance Managers agreed with the Senior Control Manager.
- Maintain close working with SPMs and Product Managers to ensure alignment with end-customer needs across BAU and BDUK
- Support the Production Directors and Works Control Manager in reviewing regional capacity against current and forecast demand and ensure that any resulting gap analysis is addressed through monitored action plans.
- Drive a "Safety First" and "Right First Time" culture across the control organisation, backed up by improvement plans, through effective engagement with team leaders and co-ordinators.
- Ensure that accidents, incidents, near misses, quality failures and service deterioration trends are investigated competently and that effective root cause analysis, action planning, implementation and monitoring follow
- Drive the focus on Quality through methodology, working practice, suitability and use of processes, systems, attitude and behaviour
- Support the Works Control Manager and Product Manager by maintaining effective strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the organisation.

-Identify at the earliest opportunity risks to delivering the Regional control budget such that action to address can be agreed and implemented effectively

- Role model important aspects of the new ways of working associated with the move to a Customer focused organisation.
- All direct reports to have clear performance objectives and a 1:1 at least every second month; these to each ensure that this requirement is cascaded through the organisation
- Demonstrate and communicate the benefits of working in a Customer-focused organisation
- To motivate and engage the team and other stakeholders
- To develop and empower individuals within the coordination team
- To meet all People related targets.
- Ensure that skills and accreditation records are complete, accurate and up-to-date and regularly reviewed.
