Exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant working for an established business in Newton Abbot. This role will mainly work on the Sales Ledger side of my client’s business, but will also cover general accounting tasks, covering sales, month end activities and other ad-hoc work.

Responsibilities for the role include:

  • To process refunds and produce credit notes

  • To ensure invoices are paid correctly

  • Liaising with the Customer Service department, to ensure all queries are dealt with in a timely manner

  • To ensure all returns are processed within company guidelines

  • To process any paperwork in a methodical manner

  • To process payments, using PayPal, card, BACS and managing direct debit payments

  • To monitor and chase debtors

  • To respond to any account queries and investigate when required

  • To Maintain various records of credit control figures

  • Set credit limits and re-assess them when necessary

  • To provide support for the purchase ledger function when required

Requirements for the role include

  • At least 2 year’s experience of working in a finance role

  • Experience of processing sales ledger

  • Experience of running month end reports

  • A finance qualification or studying towards a finance based qualification

  • Customer Service focused

  • Strong excel skills

  • Experience of resolution of disputes through communication

  • The ability to prioritise own workload

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Articulate, methodical with good communication skills
