Job Title: MANUFACTURING ENGINEER-ASSEMBLY
Shift: E/L/N
Salary: £35-40K p.a.

A vacancy has arisen for the position of a Manufacturing Engineer within the Assembly Engineering Department of a long established manufacturing company.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Manufacturing Engineer)

o To provide engineering and technical support to the manufacturing units on a day to day basis.
o To assist in new project introduction involving liaising with the customer, manufacturing, quality, logistics and purchasing departments from initial release of order to production handover.

KEY TASKS (Manufacturing Engineer)

o Assist in achieving maximum uptime of machines
o Undertaking Jig/fixture design and development for assembly processes.
o Controlling engineering costs within an agreed budget and time frame
o Co-ordinating activities for new/existing equipment embracing the following elements
Delivery/storage
Installation/commissioning
Training of technical support personnel cascading down to operators
Liaising with technicians on planned preventative maintenance
Safety at Work Act
Formulate/advise on manufacturing methods and plant/equipment requirements for new/existing projects
Implement improvements
Plan scheduled tasks in line with manufacturing requirements
Assist in 5C attainment within the manufacturing and engineering areas
Undertake generation/alteration of engineering documentation such as Work Standard Sheets, FMEA's, TPM sheets etc.

PERSON PROFILE (Manufacturing Engineer)
o Experienced process/production engineer or technician
o Good knowledge of resistance welding machines and processes, including setting of such machines
o Knowledge of MIG welding machines and processes
o Must be PC literate and have Planning and organisational skills
o Willing to undertake overtime and call outs as required.
o Able to work alternating first/second shift pattern
