Service Engineer - Sheffield

We are the leading solution provider of lab based analysis instruments.

Experience of fitting, repair and maintenance within automotive, rail or aerospace will be advantageous, along with a qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Occasional travel outside of the UK may be necessary.

The successful applicant will need to have good communication skills, have the ability to work on their own initiative, prioritise work load and have the skills to be a good team player.

Primary responsibilities:

• Liaising with Customers.
• Preparation of customer quotations including collation of material and labour costs.
• Completion of Service reports.
• Identification of parts, usage recording and stock management.
• Service contract scheduling, order progression and future business development initiatives.
• Support the service team when resource is available.

Technical Servicing of customer’s products including:
• Fault finding & diagnostics
• Electrical wiring, Pneumatics/hydraulics and Calibration.
• Configuration of temperature controllers and recorders.
• Test (final inspection / burn-off / function testing of repaired products).
• Contract inspection and reporting.
• Temperature surveying
• To work to the health and safety procedures laid down by the company.
• To attend on and off site training as required to fulfill the role.

Key skills and qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical fitting
• Experience of working in a similar environment would be desirable
• Use of power and manual tooling
• Reading and understanding engineering and electrical drawings
• Working to deadlines
• Ensuring the safe and controlled movement of production parts
• Ability to work with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and ERP systems
